- PlayStation has shut down Dark Outlaw Games, a studio formed in 2025 under Jason Blundell.
- PlayStation confirmed a reduced number of mobile games, but previously announced titles will be supported.
- About 50 layoffs were reported across the US and UK teams, including the mobile division.
While the main story is that PlayStation has closed Dark Villain GamesThat mobile game the other side also seems to be affected. The move away from the small screen comes as PlayStation rolls out new layoffs across the US and UK.
Although the company reportedly described the number as small, reports suggest around 50 employees may have been affected. These cuts are said to include multiple teams, which may include part of its mobile development efforts.
PlayStation’s interest in working on mobile games has been around for a long time
Even so, PlayStation is not completely out of mobile devices. Previously announced titles such as MLB Mobile Show, Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumbleand projects related to its partnership with NCSOFT will continue to be supported. However, more than that, the company plans to do this “scale down in this space” and focus on higher priority projects.

The company’s previous ambitions to make a name in the burgeoning mobile gaming market are well known. Since 2021, Sony has already vocal about bringing the PlayStation IP to mobile, even aiming to own almost half of its releases PC and mobile by 2025.
Acquisition Savage Game Studios in 2022 and the creation of a dedicated PlayStation Studios Mobile Division further strengthened the push, along with numerous reports about AAA mobile title in development and expansion with free-to-play mobile title.
As for Dark Outlaw Games, the studio was only formed last year as part of its incubation initiative. The team is led by Call of Duty Zombies veterans Jason Blundell and has yet to reveal or release its first project, making this closure an early and somewhat abrupt end to the studio’s run.
As Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier reports, this marks the second Jason Blundell-related project to be shut down by PlayStation. Previous studio, Deviation Gamewas working on a previous PlayStation project closed in 2024.
To avoid confusion, there is no clear indication that Dark Outlaw Games is working on a mobile title, as some early speculation suggested. The closure of the studio and the decline of PlayStation mobile devices appear to be separate developments occurring at the same time.

PakarPBN
A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
