3 Ways to Promote the Most Effective & Time Save Blog
There is no blog that will be successful if what is done only publishes content every day, without promotion.
Promotion is important …
In fact, I personally am more important than creating content.
So many bloggers who already have hundreds of content but visitors are still hundreds per day.
In this article, I will explain the 3 most effective promotional strategies among all your blog promotion strategies.
Let’s start.
Development of a Case Study Blog (May 2016)
Before we start to the main material, as usual, let’s discuss first about the blog that we make a case study.
This is data from Google Analytics for May 2016:
There were 85,453 sessions in May, an increase of around 22%.
Then, this is a screenshot of Adsense:
The total income from Adsense for May is $ 206.65.
Third, income from Amazon:
The obstacle is still the same as last month, namely the conversion of sales from articles on this blog is still very small because the type of article is less than optimal.
Since the beginning of June I have started to make a special article Amazon, but the results have not been seen.
We will discuss this one in the following months.
In May, a total of $ 422.25 from Amazon.
And finally, income from Clickbank:
(The first line is not included because of June)
The biggest income from this site comes from Clickbank, total for June which is $ 961.48.
This is the Statistics of the Case Study Blog in May 2016:
- Total visitors: 85,453
- Total income: $ 1,590.38 (or around Rp. 20 million)
- Total Customer Email List: 1,451
- Total New Articles: 14
This May 2016 is the sixth month since our case study blog was created (in December 2015).
Although the results are not extraordinary, but actually it is not very bad remembering my initial intention that this blog runs almost automatically and without spending advertising costs.
That’s the development of a blog for May.
Let’s enter the material this month.
Overview of content promotion …
There are many ways of promotion of content.
In this article I have discussed 13 content promotion strategies.
But I often get comments like this:
“How to promote mostly, confused which one”
“Of all the ways of promotion, which is the most effective?”
Therefore, this time I will reconcile into the 3 most effective promotional strategies and not take much time.
Preparation: Making images for social media
Nowadays, there are almost no big blogs that do not use images.
That must be a picture.
This is the reason:
The pictures above are website articles shared to social media.
Facebook and Pinterest.
Both are the biggest contributors to traffic for blog owners (besides Google, of course).
If your article is not illustrated, or the picture is ugly, it is almost impossible to be able to get many visitors from social media.
Thus …
Even now on this case study blog every day there are 100-500 visitors from Facebook, even though I rarely promote myself.
How to make it not difficult.
Use a web application called Canva.
This is an example of a picture that I just created in 5 minutes:
Not difficult, just click, pull, type.
To find the background image, use these sites:
Then upload to Canva.
Or you can also search directly from Canva, usually the price per $ 1 image.
After having a picture for each post, then we are ready to do a promotion.
1. Install links to other blogs from your article
This is the way only So that our articles are shared by bloggers who already have many followers.
There are no secret tricks, just install a link to their article.
For example, if you make an article about “high protein food”, and one of them is “eggs”, then you can install links to articles that discuss the benefits of eggs.
About that.
Is it easy?
I myself in every article always strive so that there is a minimum of 1 link to another blog for each subheader. So if there are 10 subheaders then there are 10 links.
After the article was published, do this:
- Search for the contact page or email address of the blog owner
- Contact them, say that you include their article in your article
- If not answered, send an email follow up 5 days later
Just that.
Usually from 10 emails, there will be around 20-50% who answered.
If your content is good, they will be happy to share social media.
This is an example of an email sent by my editor:
And this is the reply:
The point is they are happy to share my article with their audience.
With this simple strategy I can get tens of thousands of shares from Pinterest and Facebook:
2. Join the popular Facebook group
Almost all niche has a group on Facebook.
Find a group that is relevant to your niche with these 2 keywords:
- “The group named [topic]”
- “Group about [topic]”
After that, join in some of the biggest groups.
Be careful:
Don’t just promote links to the group.
A good group must be tight. If you go on a good group, then driven out, then you lose the potential for great promotion.
If we have been expelled we cannot join the group anymore.
Therefore, as discussed in this article, this is the rules:
- Promotion 1: 4 – 1x Promotion After you post a non -promotion post
- Content has really been quality and its contents are useful for group members
- There are no sales elements
This non-promotional post can be in the form of answering questions, posting interesting images (which according to the topic), or just discuss.
One more tips:
There are ways so that while your promotion can also increase likes on your Facebook page.
The trick is to post your article on the page (not in the group), then share the post on the page into the group.
3. Guest blogging on big blogs
Every time I discuss content promotion techniques, I always discuss this one.
Because the guest blogging is very effective.
In addition to traffic, we can also get quality backlinks so that the post that is promoted in Google will immediately rise.
This is the easiest way to get backlinks.
Guest blogging is also not difficult.
All you need to do is just think about some topics that are relevant to the topic of the article you want to promote.
For example:
If I want to promote the post about “List of High Protein Foods”, then an example of a topic for guest blogs about high protein foods.
Thus from the Guest Blog article we can put a link to the article that you want to promote.
If the topic is irrelevant, it will look “forced”.
This is how to find a blog that receives a blogger guest:
- [topik] “Guest Post”
- [topik] “Guest Blog”
- [topik] “Write for us”
- [topik] “Guest Post Guidelines”
… And much more.
This is an email template that you can use:
O [name],
I found your blog while searching [topic] articles, and notice that you receive guest bloggers.
The reason I write to you is because I want to contribute guest posts on your blog. I have prepared 3 topics that I think your reader will get a lot of values from:
- [article topic 1]
- [article topic 2]
- [article topic 3]
Choose one of them and I will start writing soon.
To give you some description of the quality of my article, here are some of the latest posts on my blog:
Look forward to hearing news from you.
Toast,
[your name]
That’s the way to do a guest blogging.
Usually there are blogs that have a kind of guest blogging rules.
Make sure you first read the rules before sending an email.
Because of the powerful guest blogging, for every website I always make a spreadsheet that accommodates hundreds of blogs that receive guest bloggers.
Those are the 3 most effective and time -saving promotional strategies.
Bonus: Tool that facilitates content promotion
Promotion is repeated.
Continue to be done every time we publish a new post.
This promotion process will continue until you feel your blog is big enough to be able to develop alone.
Whose name is a recurring process, it must be boring and takes a big time.
Therefore, there are several tools that can help you.
0. Types of Tools You Cannot Use
Before we enter the tool, I need to discuss this one, just briefly – because many beginner bloggers are trapped.
Avoid tools that are spam.
For example tools that can spread posts automatically to Facebook groups.
Or tools that can put many links at once on other people’s website.
There are 3 reasons:
First, SPAM’s efforts like that will make other people disturbed so that you will get an ugly image and be expelled from communities.
Second, Google can provide a penalty for your blog.
Third, spam efforts with tools like that are now no longer effective. The negative risk is greater than the benefits. Indeed there are those who still can, but need high expertise.
If you are still a beginner, it’s better to play the one who is cleaning.
1. Buffer
Buffer is a tool to schedule posts on social media.
For example, you can use a buffer to share 3 links on Facebook at once to publish one by one for the next 3 days.
So we don’t waste time on social media every day.
Alternative:
- Hootsuite
- Postplanner
- Tailwind (Special Pinterest)
2. GMASS
The most tiring thing in carrying out the promotion of the content is the process of sending an email to each person one by one. 2 of the 3 ways of promotion above also need to send lots of emails to others.
The more we send email, the higher the effect.
So as not to be tired, the solution is to use GMASS.
With GMASS, we can send personalized emails to each recipient. The use is directly in our Gmail account.
Alternative:
- ContentMarketer.io
- Ninjaouttrance
- Buzzstream (complete)
3. Ahrefs
Although the monthly costs are quite high, the benefits are appropriate.
Ahrefs is a tool that has the most benefits in the development of blogs, starting from the keyword research process, making content, content promotion, and link building.
Alternative:
- Buzzsumo
- Magnificent
- Moz
In addition to the 12 tools above, there are actually a few more tools that are also useful for content promotion. But you don’t need to bother because this is very enough.
